The 6th grade curriculum will focus on earth science. We will cover topics such as: Earth's structure, minerals, soil, rocks, plate tectonics, geologic time, weather, climate, water and the solar system. We will accomplish this by using various modes of learning.
The 7th grade curriculum will focus on physical science. We will cover topics such as: atoms, elements, chemical reactions, physical changes, energy, forces, motion, light and sound. We will accomplish this by using various modes of learning.
The 8th grade curriculum will be a pre-AP Biology course for high school credit. To receive high school credit, the student must have a FINAL B average or higher at the end of the year. Biology is the study of living things and their processes. Throughout the year, this course provides an opportunity for student to develop scientific processing skills, laboratory techniques, and an understanding of the fundamental principles of living organisms.
