Highlights!
Happy All Saints and All Souls Week!!
November 1st is All Saints Day! We would like your child to dress up as a Saint and share a bit about the life of their chosen Saint. Today they are learning several names, patrons, and basic biographical information about several Saints. Costumes must be able to be worn over school uniforms as they will be in school dress for Mass in the Morning!
November 2nd is All Souls Day. We will be celebrating Mass in the morning and praying for all those who have died.
It's the Month of the Rosary! Our Lady of the Rosary's feast was October 7th. Please take time to pray the Rosary with your family this month!

Corben University "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" Drama November 9th, 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (Drivers Needed!)
Currently, I have 6 Volunteers (Schafer, Zapata, Cullison, Bui, Berkshire, and Gomez) Which should take care of our Driving needs!!!! Permission slips coming out soon. Thank you to all who responded, its going to be a blast!
6th Grade Religion
This week we will be exploring the Bible Through Sacred Art! We will be discussing the connection between Christ and the Sacrifice of Isaac. We will also take some time to discuss Saints in preparation for ALL SAINTS DAY and go over what All Souls Day is.
As November 10th approaches, please be aware that I will be out from the 10th to the 24th. We will be having our 4th Child and will be naming him Fredrick Giorgio after some of our Family members, but also after these amazing Saints!
7th and 8th will also be discussing Saints this week! Eventually, our students will be writing up a presentation on a Saint in preparation for their Confirmation! More details to follow soon.

7/8th Social Studies
Last week we learned about the Phoenician Empire! This week we continue through Mesopotamia by exploring the accomplishments of the Persian Empire!
ELA
This is a scene from the TV show by Rod Sterling. Students will be reading the original script together in class!
The Monsters are Due On Maple Street...
This week we will be going over the classic Twilight Zone episode. Reading together in class and continuing our discussion on the Macabre.
We have gone over several short stories, and will be giving students the opportunity to write their own by the end of this week! During this writing project, we will go over proper outlining and plot development. Students will explore what makes a story "spooky" as well as other interesting elements.
Students have begun reading independently for 20 minutes a day! Please make sure you sign each night. Our first round of Book It! Pizza rewards will be coming out this month!
