Is the Electoral College Still Needed?

Introduction

There have been many recent debates about whether or not the electoral college is still needed. Due to the modern world, many question whether this practice is outdated, and argue that it hurts Americans, while others wish to preserve America's roots.

My topic is about the electoral college, why it exists, and if it is still needed.

My topic ranges from 1804 to present day. It will also discuss the future of America with and without the electoral college.

By learning and studying historical events, we can understand what to do in the future. For example, if something didn't work in the past, we wouldn’t try to do it again today, and vice versa.

As countries change, so do their governments, and systems. Some things are needed at a time, and once they are no longer needed, they fade out.

I would like to understand more about why we have the electoral college in the United States, and how it began.
