Conclusion

Every United States citizen wants their voice heard when it comes to electing the president. One of the most basic rights of a U.S. citizen should be that everyone’s vote should be counted as equal; however, the Electoral College prevents citizens from enacting this right . The Electoral College does not represent the voice of the people as a whole, it makes an individual's vote count less if they live in a more populated state, it makes their vote count more if they live in swing states, and it makes it difficult for 3rd party members to win. With all of these points in mind, it is clear that the electoral college should be abolished.
