What is happening in the Spanish room?

Week 1 - I can greet my teacher and introduce myself to my class in Spanish.

Week 2 -The colors of the Rainbow, it is so exciting to get to look around us and being able to tell what colors we see!

Week 3 - School supplies and we are getting to sing "Yo tengo un amigo que me ama" (Jesus) that also helps us to learn some pronouns as " yo, tu y nosotros

Week 4 - We are still practicing colors and learning how to say some fruits and animals in spanish.

Week 5 - Amarillo is the color of the sun ! We are almost done with the colors of the rainbow unit and we get to sing to Virgin Mary una cancion! ( Todos le queremos cantar a la Virgen Maria).

Week 6- Purple is the color of grapes, violets and plumps. We are now celebrating to month of the rosary so we were singing " Todos queremos cantar a la Virgen Maria" ( Everybody wants to sing to the Virgin Mary.

Week 7- We are now learning about the current weather season "el otono", all those colors around currently and things related to it. We will learn a song about "Noah's Arch" this week too.

Week 8- We are learning about "Dia de los Muertos", reviewing and learning more colors. We are almost have done with our song about "Noah's ark Bible story".

Week 9 The color of the week is Negro ( Black), Dia de los muertos and vocabulary related to it.

Week 10 The color of the week is Gray, we will start our vocabulary related to "El dia de Gracias".

Week 11 Color Review, we are reviewing so many colors this week.

Week 12 El dia de Gracias, we learn vocabulary about this meaningful holiday.

Week 13 We continue reviewing about El dia de Gracias, Doy gracias por mi familia, mi escuela, mis amigos.

Week 14 Winter Math, counting to ten and further, winter vocab and learning a song for Our Lady Mary of Guadalupe.

Week 15 Our Lady of Guadalupe unit as we celebrated San Juan Diego feast on Dec 9th and Our Lady on Dec 12th. Crafts will be made.

Week 16 La Navidad, all about Christmas !

Week 17 Feliz 2020! We are off to count all the way to twenty. Students will match the number with their actual name and count and name animals and objects.

Week 18 Contando, Contando y sigo caminando ( We are counting all the way to 20 and learning commands so we can play "Simon dice"

Week 19 January is our Math Month so we are busy counting all the way to 20, we are also learning some nursery rhymes songs in Spanish

Week 20 Students are practicing their spelling with all the numbers from 1-20, we will learn a song about a silly elephant swinging over a spider web that keeps calling friends to join the fun!

K-1 will work into counting and drawing items representing the numbers

2nd will work with their spelling and counting all the way to 20.

Week 21 El alfabeto, we will explore the sounds of the letters. Counting to 20 has been fun so we are continuing working with some math and see how many elephants the spider web resist!

Week 22 We will continue learning all about the alphabet and learning some words along with it.

Week 23 El alfabeto unit continues, learning some Hispanic Cultural words as part of it.

Week 24 La primavera, we will learn elements of Spring and some commands during this week.

Week 25 Still learning all about spring and singing a song about the things we find during this particular season
