What is happening in the Spanish room?

Week 1 - Greeting and introducing myself in Spanish to my friends.

Week 2 - Days of the week and Counting in Spanish

Week 3 - School supplies and practicing the colors of the rainbow.

Week 4 - Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow ( Days of the week)

Week 5 - Caminando voy a Jerusalem ( On my way to Jerusalem), we learned while having fun singing this song 5 verbs in Spanish ( Walking, Running, Marching, Clapping and Dancing). This activity helped the students to learn to follow commands in Spanish.

Week 6 - Mi Casa es tu casa. We will go around the house and learn the rooms, appliances and furniture in Spanish. We will practice spanish commands in a fun twisted Simon says way!

Week 7 - Mi casa es tu casa unit continues, this time we will visit the bedroom. We will also build vocabulary related with the current weather season of Fall.

Week 8 - We are learning about Dia de los muertos a meaningful celebration full of culture and color. Vocabulary related to Fall and the current festivities.

Week 9- We are learning vocabulary about the current season and the festivity of the Day of the Deads.

Week 10 11/4/19- 3rd grade is learning about the rooms around the house ( La casa).

4th grade Numbers and vocabulary ( Greetings)

5th grade Numbers and Days of the week

Week of 11/11.19

3rd grade : La familia, we are learning the members of the family and we share their names.

4th grade and 5th grade: written test about the numbers from 1-10

Week of 11/18/19

3rd grade: La familia, we keep sharing and matching those names.

4th grade : we learn cognates, students realize they can actually read some spanish words

already.

5th grade: La comida, el dia de gracias, draw your favorite food from this Holiday!

3rd grade: We learn cognates, students realize that they can actually read spanish words.

4th and 5th No class Thanksgiving Break

Week 12/02/19

3rd grade We are reviewing numbers and the way they are written. We also start talking about "Lady Mary of Guadalupe" ahead of her festivity. We also visited "the dining room " and also some objects that are in it.

4th Grade Number review and counting all the way to 20, we will talk about "Our Lady Mary of Guadalupe"

5th Grade Number review and counting all the way to 20, "Our Lady Mary of Guadalupe".Which is your favorite food.

Week 12/09/19

Our Lady of Guadalupe Unit as we celebrate San Juan Diego on December 9th and Our Lady Dec 12th . We will make ornaments.

Week 01/06/20 How is the weather today?. Students will learn to talk about the weather and the actual seasons.

Week 01/13/20 Weather vocabulary continues.

Week 01/20/20 We continue to learn all about the weather and different elements happening during the weather season

Week 01/27/20 We will be sharing with our friends what are our favorite things about the 4 weather seasons.

Week 02/03/20 El clima continues, student will correlate the months of the year with the actual seasons. We will learn a song about this unit too.

Week 02/10/20 El dia de San Valentin, students will learn vocabulary from this festivity.

Week 02/17/20 Mis emociones, students will learn how to share about how they feel .

Week 02/24/20 Mis emociones Unit continues. Test about the weather unit happening this week also.

Week 03/02/20 Students will ask others how are they feeling as we continue Mis emociones.

Week 03/09/20 Finishing Unit Mis emociones, reviewing the months of the year.

Week 03/16/20 Extended Learning Week 1

Objective of the week: I can Identify Parts of the body

Parts of the body (La cara): This week we will learn the names of each part of the head, all the way to the shoulders

Week 03/23/20 Extended Learning Week 2

Objective of the week: I can tell that something hurts

Part of the body 2: This week students will learn the names of the body parts from the chest all the way down to the feet.

Week 03/30/20 Extending Learning

Objective of the week: I can name the body parts in Spanish

We will practice with flashcards on Quizlet while listening to the pronunciation, writing and playing games while learning.
