Comprehension Focus + Oral Language Focus: Holes (class novel)
How do Comprehension Checks work?: Students will be quizzed on each chapter of our class novel.
Typically, there will be two parts to the quiz.
The first part will ask students, through multiple choice questions, to identify different characters, settings, and key events. The first part will be closed-book.
The second part will ask students, through short-answer responses, to identify and recall specific details throughout the specified chapter. The second part will be open-book.
Writing Focus: Proud Moment Personal Narratives, Research and Reporting - Holocaust Research Project
Grammar Focus: Appositives (Unit 2, Lesson 5)
Spelling and Vocabulary Focus: In 4th and 5th grade, we use the same words for our spelling and vocabulary list. We study 12 words every two weeks. After we introduce the words on a Monday, and then there is a spelling test on the Friday of that week. Then, we work with the words again for another week and take a vocabulary test the following Friday.

Thursday, March 12th - Unit 9 Spelling Test, Unit 9 Cursive Sheet - DUE
