Final Exam: Wednesday, May 22- part 1   Thursday, May 23 - part 2

A review packet and vocabulary list will be sent home next Monday.

Week of May 13: Students will receive their graded tests on Area by the end of the week. We are currently working on a mini-unit on Volume & Surface Area. On Friday we will take a quiz on those topics, as well as another timed multiplication test (up to 12x12).Next week we will review topics covered throughout the year and play a jeopardy review game to prepare for the Final Exam. Students have a vocabulary list as well as an exam review guide for study purposes.


Week of May 6: We will conclude our unit on Area of Polygons. Students will take a practice test in class on Wednesday. Our test is scheduled for Thursday.


Week of April 22: On Tuesday students will receive their graded unit test on equation/inequalities. Our next unit will focus on Area formulas. We will begin with measuring rectangles, and from there we will move on to parallelograms, trapezoids, and triangles. Homework will be updated on Google Classroom.


Week of April 15: Unit test on Equations and Inequalities is scheduled for Friday.  A review packet was sent home. Students should complete a minimum of 2 problems per page. The packet will be collected on Friday. We will take a practice test in class this week. Students should familiarize themselves with the format of the questions.


Week of April 8: Students will receive their graded unit test on Expressions this week. 

On Tuesday, we will begin our new unit on Equations. Students will solve equations using Inverse Operations.



Week of March 25:  On Monday, we will review our unit on Expressions. Students will take notes on the main topics from this unit, as well as receive a study packet. In class on Tuesday, we will take a practice test. The plan is to take our unit test on Wednesday.  Please check google classroom for updates on homework.

 I hope everyone has a blessed Easter break. I will look forward to seeing everyone when we return in April. At that time, we will begin our unit on Equations.

March 11-15: We will begin the week learning Distributive Property. A quiz on simplifying algebraic expressions, using order of operations as well as the distributive property, will be scheduled for Friday.


March 4-8: Students will receive their graded Order of Operations quiz on Monday. This week we will write algebraic expressions and introduce the distributive property. Our next unit test is tentatively planned for Friday March 15. Please see updates regarding homework on Google classroom.

February 26-29: This week we are working on Algebraic Expressions. Students will continue to use Order of Operations in order to evaluate expressions. A quiz is planned for Thursday.  Please see updates regarding homework on Google classroom. 

February 20: Students will receive their graded mid-term exam this week. We began our next unit on Expressions last week. We are currently focusing on Order of Operations. There will be a timed multiplication facts quiz scheduled for Thursday. Please refer to Google classroom for updates on homework assignments.

January 29-February 2: We will begin the weeek with a unit test on Integers. On Wednesday we will play a Jeopardy review game to prepare for our upcoming Mid-term exam. Exam is scheduled for  Friday February 9.

January 22-26: Students will continue to work on Integers this week. We will find reflections, absolute value, and distance on a coordinate plane. After a couple days of review (practice test, jeopardy) we will set a date to take our unit test on Integers.

Homework: Please check google classroom for homework. There will be a practice test, as well as review packet sent home at the end of the week.

January 8-12: We will continue our unit on Integers. A quiz is scheduled for Wednesday on Integers.  A timed  multiplication facts test is scheduled for Friday.



Friday, February 9: 6th Grade Midterm Exam

A review guide will be sent out in the upcoming week.

January 2-5: We will begin our unit on Integers . Students will use integers to represent quantities, graph on a number line, and to compare/order values.

Homework: Homework is assigned on a daily basis. Please check for updates on Google classroom.

Fluency: Students will take weekly timed tests on facts through 12x12. Flash cards, as well as on-line math games, will help student to prepare.
