Third Grade

In third grade we will be working on grammar, handwriting (print and cursive), phonics, spelling, vocabulary, reading fluency, reading comprehension, sentence structure, paragraph writing, and the writing process. We will meet nine class periods per week.

Week of October 26, 2026-   We will identify and and correct run-on sentences (Grammar Unit 1 Lesson 8). We will read a passage and find information in the text. We will read and spell words with a y as a long vowel. We will start our new novel: Cam Jansen and The First Day of School Mystery.  We will read with fluency and expression. We will answer questions about the text. Spelling words: carry, penny, happy, messy, glossy, fluffy, puppy, sorry, hurry, pretty, worry, funny

*Grammar Unit 1 test on Thursday November 5th*

Homework:  Read for 20 minutes

Monday: Packet due Friday. Spelling Test on Friday.

Tuesday: Packet due Friday. Spelling Test on Friday.

Wednesday:Packet due Friday. Spelling Test on Friday.

Thursday: Packet due Friday. Spelling Test on Friday.
