In Second grade, we will be working on phonological awareness, phonemic awareness and alphabetic principle, sound mastery, letter formation, phonics, vocabulary, high frequency 'trick' words, fluency, comprehension, spelling, and punctuation and capitalization.
We will meet daily during the 2nd grade reading block.
Homework:
Week of December 15, 2025- We will continue to read words with suffixes (s, es, ing, ed, er, est). We will continue our new book Merry Christmas Amelia Bedelia! We will take a Unit test to show what we know about adding suffixes to words. *No Spelling this week*
Trick words: both, full, pull, shall, talk, walk, done, goes, pretty, again, please, animal, sure, use, used.
Homework (every week)- Read for 10 minutes.
