"Reach Out" Website

The Veterans Health Administration continues to enhance efforts to save veteran's lives by combating suicide. To do this the VA has developed “Reach Out.” The “Reach Out” website provides video testimonials from veterans who have suffered from mental health concerns and received help at the VA.

The site also has resources for veterans who need help and anyone who wishes to reach out to support veterans. As former President Barack Obama reminded us, “To anyone out there who's hurting—it's not a sign of weakness to ask for help. It's a sign of strength.”

Life has its challenges. Let veterans know that they don't have to solve them alone.

(CRM) is a training offered in Berrien County by Spectrum (or if a group wants training, the trainers will come to you). They do an amazing job of giving individuals (parents, teachers, grandparents, lunchroom staff, coaches, etc) tools to support others (including children) who have experienced trauma. Spectrum health offers regular trauma informed workshops with mental health topics.

If you are feeling distress help is available. There are many ways to connect with emotional-support services without the need to leave home.

This website also has a LOT of other great resources - check it out!!
