At McLaren High School we have a team of dedicated Digital Ambassadors. These pupils are working hard to support their peers with minor Chromebook issues and support. For example if a pupil is having trouble organising their drive or to upload work, our ambassadors are there to help.
If you are looking for help or advice on how to use your Chromebook please see; Aidan Cronin, Steven Kent, Catriona Manders or Isabel Cameron.
Our team will also be writing a monthly blurb about "All things Digital" happening within McLaren High School, which will be posted here monthly!
Hello! We’re McLaren High School’s new Digital Ambassador Team and we’re really excited about the launch of the new website and the work we’ll be doing alongside it to support the school’s Digital Learning team with the rollout of chromebooks and all things digital at McLaren.
So far this year, every pupil has been allocated with a school chromebook and although there’s been challenges, the rollout has been an amazing success - revolutionising the way lessons are taught and advancing learning equality at our school. We thought it would be a good idea in this first blog post to introduce ourselves and each give an example of how we’ve used our new chromebooks (aside from to write this on a shared google doc right now!)
So without further ado...Hi, I’m Catriona and last week one of my teachers used google classroom to assign each class member a google doc with tasks to do on our chromebooks and this meant he could mark as we went and help us with problems from a safe distance.
I am Aidan and since getting my chromebook I have really enjoyed having everything I need in one place. It makes working in class a lot easier, being able to jump from Google Classroom to Google Docs and then quickly go to Google Calendar to take notes of when my Prelims are. This has kept me organized with classwork.
Hi, I’m Steven and I’ve loved having my chromebook to make my school life more organised and accessible. With my chromebook I’ve been able to have everything just for my school work in the one place and with our current situation, being able to hand in tasks online helps massively with time-saving and enables us to work safely with our peers and teachers.
Hi, I'm Isabel and having a chromebook is really helpful, it is useful for every aspect of school from getting information and questions in class to getting homework done more quickly! It also really helps with revision because everything is in one place and it is all organised! Chromebooks have been a great way to make the current situation much easier to cope with safely and have also helped us to learn skills that we need for the future.
