Whilst maintaining a firm focus on the experiences and outcomes that underpin the broad general education, S3 at Dunblane HS provides young people with the opportunity for personalisation and choice by narrowing the courses they study.

Young people will select a total of 8 Subjects in addition to English and Maths.  They must choose at least 1 Science,  1 Creative Art, 1 Social Subject, and 1 Technology-based subject then have 4 more completely free choices.  Young people will continue to receive 2 periods of Core PE, 1 period of PSHE, and 1 period of RME. From sesssion 2024/25 young people in S3 will also choose a project based learning course where they will spend a double period each week exploring a project with cross-curricular links that relate to real life contexts and/or career pathways.
