Update for Parents and Carers
Building Futures Together
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Mobile March! This is the month where pupils (and staff) are encouraged to reduce their screen time to support mental health and wellbeing. The Head Prefects will be delivering assemblies that highlight great reasons to reduce screen time. In addition they have added some slides on AI. Please do encourage your child to take part in the challenge. There are prizes to be won for the person in each year group who has the largest recorded reduction in screen time on their phone.
Thanks to the Balfron Languages Team for raising the profile of languages through form time quiz, tannoys and of the course, the lovely Cafe de Paris, last week. There is a short video below celebrating this.
As a spin-off from the equalities assemblies and languages week, we would like to promote and celebrate the nationalities of our community. On the year group google classrooms there is a nationality survey inviting pupils to share their nationality. Staff are also invited to do this. To celebrate our diversity, we plan to have flags of our collective nationalities hanging in the atrium. Please encourage your young person to add theirs through this link .
It is great to se that the Balfrista, our own coffee shop is now officially open from 830-9am on Fridays. Thanks to Miss Murdock for supervising the S6 baristas with this.

Mock Election
Senior Pupils are working with Modern Studies teachers to run a Mock election. The aim is to help raise awareness of, and prepare 16+ pupils for the Scottish Parliamentary elections on 7th May 2026.
On the week beginning 9th March senior pupils will come around form classes to present several brief lessons explaining:
1. that there is an election
2. how the election works
3. why the election is important.
During the week beginning 16th March, form classes will be called down to Polling places in the Atrium and Strathendrick suite. Form class teachers will help raise awareness of the election with their pupils. Parents/carers can share the Scottish voter registration details with the attached Link: voter registration.
Feedback on Balfron Highlights is always welcome. I am grateful to receive that directly
Thank you all for your support.
