"Be a designer, not just an assigner". As we shift into remote learning across the globe, many educators are quickly scrambling to figure out digital tools and platforms for delivering instruction. But what about the content we are sharing? Does it feel like a series of assignments or does it include student choice while fostering the 4Cs (creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and communication)? How can we incorporate great pedagogy, the best content, and meaningful technology into our classroom?
Enter the HYPERDOC. HyperDocs are digital lessons that, when designed intentionally and packaged purposefully, will allow you to shift from a teacher-centered model to a student-centered model for asynchronous learning. Explore the links below to find out how well designed Hyperdocs can transform your distance learning lessons. (Also, continuing the theme of WORKING SMARTER, NOT HARDER - discover where you can find free hyperdoc templates, rich in content, and vetted by teams of experienced educators. Search for templates by grade level or subject area. Use as is, giving proper credit of course, or customize to fit your needs.)
(Please be sure to make a copy). Note: HyperDocs can be saved as a PDF and uploaded into Seesaw. Students will click on the HyperDoc in a Seesaw posted activity which forces a copy that students can then rename and fill out, much like a digital notebook. Please contact Julie Balfanz if your team would like a more in-depth small group training on HyperDocs.
