Applying to university in the UK
If you want to apply to any university in the UK you have to apply through UCAS.
UCAS is a centralised system to apply to all universities in the UK and all applications are processed through UCAS.
STEP 1 Create an account in UCAS, using the link on this page.
STEP 2 Select courses by using university ranking tools searching by subject, location, course etc.Check requirements carefully to ensure you meet them and that the course content includes subjects and topics you are interested in.
STEP 3 Write your personal statement ensuring it addresses the skills required for your chosen course.
STEP 4: Fill out your UCAS application and pay a small fee to submiit your application.
IB 2025 Cohort Application Deadlines
30th of April 2024: UCAS’ search tool will display 2025 courses.
14th May 2024: UCAS undergraduate application 2025 cycle opens.
3rd September 2024: Completed 2025 entry UCAS Undergraduate applications can be submitted to UCAS.
15th October 2024 (18:00 UK time): 2024 entry deadline for the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, and most courses in medicine, veterinary medicine/science and dentistry.
29th January 2025 (18:00 UK time): 2024 entry deadline for all UCAS Undergraduate and Conservatoires applications, except for those courses with a 16th October deadline.
*Please note that despite the 29th of January deadline, all students at St. George are expected to have completed their applications by the end of November 2024. The objective of this is so students can focus on preparing for their mock exams without distractions and they have the best possible chances of meeting the requirements of their chosen courses.
