A Little About Ms. Ferrari
I have been teaching at St. Francis since the fall of 2011 making this my 15th year. I taught kindergarten from the fall of 2011 to the spring of 2025. I am a proud graduate of St. Francis and I love our school motto “We are here to serve: not to be served”. Service has been a part of my life since I was a student here and I even won the DeSales Award (for service) when I was in 8th grade. I graduated in May 1998!
I have a BA from West Liberty University in Elementary Education with a minor in early childhood in 2006 and a Masters from WVU in Early Childhood Education in 2011. I completed a Masters as a Reading Specialist in December of 2023 from West Liberty University. I finished my Practitioner Level for my religion certification from the University of Dayton in May of 2014 and finished the Professional Level I and II in October and November of 2015. In December of 2020 I became a National Board Certified Teacher as an Early Childhood Generalist and in December of 2024 I maintained my certification. I love being a part of the St. Francis school community because we have an amazing faculty, staff, and administration.
I am a lover of technology and I am always trying to learn more about it so I can better help my students. I have attended google, OSMO, Augmented Reality training, and apple training. In September of 2017 I completed work to become an Apple Teacher. In October of 2017 I completed work to add Swift Playground recognition to my Apple Teacher. In December of 2017 I became a Nearpod Certified Educator. In September of 2018 I attended an IXL Live training and was able to learn new tricks and tips for IXL. In August of 2019 I wrote a blog entry for Nearpod and it can be found here https://nearpod.com/blog/distance-learning/. In June 2020 I became a Google Certified Teacher Level 1. In the summer of 2024 my capstone literature review on phonemic awareness was published in the West Virginia Reading Associate Virtual Conference Journal and can be found here https://heyzine.com/flip-book/3ac83e8c4c.html.
I am excited to get to get to know your child over this school year and see them grow spiritually and mentally! Nothing compares to helping and watching a child grow and learn.
