Grades 7 and 8

The theme of this year is Changes. Covering biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science, students will investigate the changes involving:

• Movement of land masses over time
• Chemical and physical reactions
• Materials cycling through living things and their environment

This class focuses on classroom activities and small-group projects to keep students engaged. Additionally, students will plan and conduct experiments for the Science Fair in April and participate in engineering projects throughout the year.

Beginning the week of September 11, students will be learning about physical changes of matter including demonstrations and a laboratory experience. This unit of study is the foundation for upcoming studies in chemistry.
