Above is a timeline for the project that goes along with Gantt chart for the project. Each of the main phases are shown on the timeline leading up to the eventual SAE competiton. Below is a more detailed breakdown of the phases with key tasks.
The early stages of the project consist of the intro, technical analysis, and design portions of the project. The main goals here are to review past designs and come up with initial models to perform analyses on. The results will then be used to modify the designs, and retested before the production of the suspension system begins.
The end of the project focuses mainly on the manufacturing and assembly of the vehicle leading up to the competiton. This starts with making and mounting the front and rear suspensions. Once they are attached initial testing will be done. After which some design modifications and tuning may be done to the vehicle. The vehicle will then be put through advanced testing before the SAE competition in early June.
The budget breakdown shown to the right is a list of all the necessary components needed for the project. The group was able to look to the SAE club for additional funding after exceeding the Senior Design budget. After all neccesary purchases were made the final budget came to a total of $1,564.36.
