A local Stevens Band playing their own song in Howe
Here at Stevens, the very heart and soul of our community is our music department. From shows on the Babio Building patio to concerts in Howe, it is the life-blood that keep our community going.
There are many local student formed bands that preform either on campus or in the surrounding area. Anytime they preform, a large crowd always gathers to watch.
As both musicians and engineers, we have familiarized ourselves with various types of MIDI controllers. From drum pads which cost over 100 dollars to MIDI keyboards which can cost more than 500 dollars, we have all been dissatisfied with the current state of MIDI technology. The lower end equipment does the job, but lacks key features like pitch modulation and velocity control, while higher end equipment is complex to learn and has features that aren’t useful for our needs.
