Battery Decay: Battery duration performance may degrade over time and we shall not be liable, but may offer replacement services.
Vibrational System Decay: The system shall be given a lifespan that we see the electromagnetic knocker system should not fail. Liability for this failure as a device failure or non-liable device age will be judged during development.
Positional System Decay: The system shall be given a lifespan that we see the orientation-detection should not fail. Liability for this failure as a device failure or non-liable device age will be judged during development.
Misdirection: Our algorithms need to offer good directional readings always.
Our product is meant to provide a directional sense for the navigationally impaired, however, if this fails we are giving them a false understanding of their environment which has the possibility to be misguide the user into dangerous circumstances. The fidelity of the algorithm shall be verified and field tested across many users beforehand to declare how often misreadings occur on a fully functional device.
Electrical Malfunction: The battery in the device could potentially have an electrical malfunction, which could harm the user.
To mitigate this, we shall validate and verify during manufacturing that there are no electrical shorts in the battery circuit for every unit shipped, and make sure during the engineering validation phase that any battery malfunction doesn't result in harm to the user (i.e. that anything that happens to the battery doesn't result in an explosion)
Interactions with Strong Magnetic Fields: Our product relies a lot on the effects of magnetic fields and strong fields could result in the read direction of the compass being shifted wildly, which could lead to user misdirection, discussed before.
The product user shall be advised to not use the device in environments with large magnetic field presence. These fields will disrupt the readings from the device and will provide bad readings, in which we are no longer liable for misdirection.
