Graduation Application
Congratulations on earning your MBA from Stern! In order to be an official graduate, students must complete the Application for Degree Candidacy. All MBA students who are planning to graduate must file this graduation form required by NYU. A25 / DC25: The graduation application will be available on March 1, 2025.
This only takes a few minutes. Follow the below instructions (or refer to the instructions here) to submit the application for degree candidacy.
Go to albert.nyu.edu and login with your NYU credentials
Click the 'Academics' tab and click the 'Apply to Graduate' button under the Graduation section
Select the academic program
Select the expected graduation term
Click 'Submit Application'
Once you submit your application, the screen will display a confirmation message. This page will also display information about where your diploma will be shipped. If you need to make any updates to this information, be sure to change your Diploma Options (see below).
Diploma Options
If you'd like to review your diploma options such as the name displayed on your diploma and mailing address, please follow the instructions here.
Your Diploma Name: By default, your Primary name will be printed on your diploma unless you select your chosen / preferred name instead. You must also indicate if your name includes diacritics and / or accent marks. To update your chosen / preferred name, follow the instructions here.

Degree Conferral Timelines
Students who complete the EMBA program will earn a Master of Business Administration degree. The University officially confers degrees at three points each academic year: August, January, or May. The conferral date is the day your degree is awarded. Diplomas are mailed to graduates about 8 weeks after the degree confers (may take longer for international shipping).
January Cohorts (J): Considered as January graduates and receive diplomas in late March.
August Cohorts (A and DC): Considered as August graduates and receive diplomas in late October.
See here for more information on graduation deadlines and when requirements need to be completed.
