What is the difference between the NYU All-University Commencement and the EMBA Graduation Ceremony?
The NYU All-University Commencement at Yankee Stadium celebrates ALL schools and students graduating from New York University. With thousands of students expected to attend, graduates are not recognized individually by name. Instead, the Deans introduce each class as a whole and a representative selected in advance will receive a symbolic degree for degree categories.
The EMBA Graduation Ceremony at NYU Skirball is exclusive to Stern's EMBA students, along with their families and friends. Graduates are recognized individually and have the opportunity to walk across the stage as their name is called.
How do I attend the NYU All-University Commencement at Yankee Stadium?
The NYU All-University Commencement at Yankee Stadium, taking place May 15, 2025, is OPTIONAL.
J Cohort: Because you will already be graduates, you will hear from the University directly about next steps (see below note).
A and DC Cohorts: Because you will not yet be graduates, you have the opportunity to attend ONLY if your graduation application is submitted by the deadline. We will send more information on this process and the deadline in due time.
Please note that the NYU All-University Commencement is managed by the Central University. The EMBA team does not manage this event. Communications will go to your NYU email, not your Stern email. If you are considering attending this event, please be sure that you can access these emails. We would recommend setting up email forwarding. Your NYU email can be found at home.nyu.edu.
Will faculty be in attendance at the EMBA Graduation Ceremony?
EMBA faculty members are invited to attend the graduation ceremony and walk in the procession. They are also invited to attend the graduation reception taking place after the ceremony.
Will we receive photos from the EMBA Graduation Ceremony?
Yes! We will have a professional photographer to take photos of every graduate as they walk across the stage, and by themselves with their graduation memento. Once available, photos from the ceremony will be sent to graduates via email.
How far is the cocktail reception location from the EMBA Graduation Ceremony?
The graduation cocktail reception will be just minutes away from the graduation ceremony venue! Upon the conclusion of the ceremony, graduates and guests should proceed to the next location to continue the celebration.
When will I receive my diploma?
Graduates will not receive their diploma at any of NYU's graduation exercises. Diplomas will be mailed to candidates' addresses by the University Registrar approximately eight weeks after degree conferral.
