TAKE A SNEAK PEEK AT NEXT WEEK

Math:  This will be a busy week.  We will be practicing rounding, comparing and adding large numbers.  On Tuesday we will take the STARS test.   On Thursday we will have our first math quiz.  It will cover drawing numbers with models, rounding numbers, writing numbers in standard, expanded and word form and comparing numbers.  This is review material from last year and the students have been doing well with their mastery of these concepts.  We will complete a review page on Wednesday which they will have in their accordion.  You can use this to review for the quiz.   Again, our simple solutions quiz is Friday

Social Studies:  This week we will continue exploring the Northeast Region and our focus will be on resources in the Northeast.

Science: Continuing unit 1 which is all about Energy Conversations. Our Unit Question: How does the electrical system work? In Chapter 1, students will learn about the different systems and forms of energy. Students will get the opportunity to build a working solar panel.

Reading: We will move onto Unit 1 Week 2. This week, to show what they know, students will draw a life-size version of their chosen character from our small book story “The Talent Show”. They will add information using our comprehension skill and strategy of the week. Their U1W2 test will be on Friday, September 1st .
