What does homework in reading class look like? : 

Students have a vocabulary study guide each week. They are asked to study these words at home to prepare them for their weekly reading test. Their study guides will be in their Reading Notebooks. Students will also be tested over a story that we read in class each week. These can be found in their big reading books. The weekly story that they will be tested on is listed on their study guide and I will include it in the weekly newsletter as well. They are asked to read the story again (at least) the night before their test to gain a better understanding of the text. 

Students will be given time to work on practice worksheets in class that go over a skill and/or strategy. If it is unfinished in class, this will be assigned as homework and due the following school day.
