The Teaching, Learning, and Technology Roundtable (TLTR) is pleased to announce funding for Generative AI software licenses to support faculty exploration and integration of AI tools in their work. This funding is for individual faculty licenses (not student or classroom licenses.) This initiative aims to support faculty experimentation with AI, foster collaboration, and inform AI working groups on how generative AI can enhance teaching, research, and academic workflows.
TLTR will provide access to paid generative AI tools–either Google Gemini Advanced (Gemini Education integrated with the St. Edward’s Google Workspace for Education) or ChatGPT Team (access the the Instructional Technology Teams Workspace--see caveats below on merging data from Plus to Team). Faculty can apply for one of two levels:
Curiosity Level (1-2 months)
Power User Level (up to 1 year)
We will check with users after 1 month to confirm their choices of level and tool. Curiosity users can continue for one more month. Power Users can continue for up to 1 year or choose to switch to a curiosity level license.
Interested faculty should submit a request through the TLTR Generative AI Software Request Form. Funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis to full time or adjunct faculty who are currently employed with St. Edward’s until allocated funds are spent. Requests will be reviewed by Instructional Technology staff to ensure alignment with faculty needs and institutional goals.
Recipients agree to share their experiences to contribute insights to institutional AI initiatives.
All recipients will contribute feedback (through surveys or focus groups) to AI working groups to help identify potential use cases and benefits of generative AI in academic settings.
In addition, recipients will post to discussions in the Generative AI Faculty Hub to help build a community of practice. Each post should be 300-500 words and cover their use of generative AI, for example, sharing use cases, sample assignments, learning outcomes, prompts, Generative AI literacies, etc.
Curiosity Users: 1 post
Power Users: 2 posts
Power Users will be identified as power users in case other faculty in their department or school have questions.
It’s complicated. Details are available here: TLTR ChatGPT Team Workspace, but see below for highlights.
Merge or download (archive) data. You will have the option to merge data (past chat history) from an individual license into the shared workspace.
If you choose not to do this, you will need to maintain your account separately or download (archive) your data. Merging requires using the same email for both accounts.
Merged data stays with ChatGPT Teams. Any data merged from an individual license into a Teams workspace stays there. There is no option to get it back out. You can download data from an individual account, but not a Teams workspace. Any merged data will be maintained as long as the workspace exists even if you leave.
Custom GPTs CAN be transferred.
Custom Instructions cannot be transferred. You should copy them and then paste them into the workspace.
