Mission

The South End Technology Center at Tent City’s mission is to facilitate the use of emerging technologies in ways that encourage people to become innovators and producers, to tell their own stories, and to learn ways of creating just and humane communities.

We serve as an education laboratory, developing innovative new tools and approaches for training our target communities in the skills and competencies needed to thrive in the current job market. To facilitate the growth and development of technology, art, and media enterprises. positioned to bring out the best in and give voice to communities of color and those historically underserved communities.

We will provide resources and explore applications to assist communities of color in the development of sustainable technology, art, design and media, and promote meaningful participation for our community in the “Global Innovation Economy”. Our particular aim is to reach community members who are still largely excluded or underserved.
