About Us

WHO WE ARE: The South End Technology Center @ Tent City (The Tech Center) is a collaborative venture between the Tent City Corporation (TCC) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). We are a member of the Timothy Smith Network. Our fundamental purpose is to enable people to become producers of knowledge and sharers of ideas and information. Our scope and methods are as diverse as the people we serve. We provide free or low-cost access and training in most aspects of computer-related technology. The staff, mostly volunteers, have extensive backgrounds in computer technology and their applications.

If you would like to volunteer, work or intern give us. a call! We would be glad to hear from you, Each year, SETC relies on the terrific work of volunteers, student hires, and interns to be successful.

If you have skills to share with others, we encourage you to develop a class to teach at SETC.

We offer internships and work/study to area high school and college students so they can learn firsthand about technology, community development, and business. We also hire 45 Learn 2Teach, Teach 2 Learn teenage youth teachers and Systems of the Body analysts each year for our spring and summer programs.

Working and volunteering at SETC is a good opportunity to learn firsthand about information technology and community development.

Best of all,

You can make a positive difference!
