Celebration

Y4 had a wonderful day when the 'Sound of Noise' came to school to deepened our  scientific knowledge of sound. We experimented with sounds, making sound effects for a crackling fire and birds flapping their wings. We even got to be Foley Artists (if you don't know what that is ask Y4!)  Another crazy fact we learnt was that if you rearrange the letters of the word LISTEN you get the word SILENT. 

On Thursday 28th of November, Year Five took part in a Space Spectacular Day.  We have a visit from Auriga Astronomy, who were able to take us into space in their amazing planetarium.  Dave, our guide, talked to us about  our own solar system and the Artemis Space Program.  It shocked us that this project will be sending  an astronaut back to the moon before 2050.  During our day, we created constellation art pieces with pastels, researched the fascinating story of the hidden women mathematicians at NASA and experimented with rocket propulsion.
