Year 4 Roman Day
On Thursday 10th October, Year 4 had a spectacular Roman Day. We started off in the hall with Mike who told us all about how the Romans invaded Britain. Then we played a very competitive and very loud Roman game called Delta - it was a bit like Shuffleboard. We also had a quiz about the Romans and had the opportunity to handle some real artefacts including a poop sponge. (What the Romans used to wipe their bottoms!!)
Our favourite part of the day was the afternoon when all of Year 4 recreated the Battle of Watling Street. We charged towards the Romans and had to squash together because the valley was too small. We were defeated by the Romans, which is similar to what happened to Boudicca and her 10 thousand soldiers.
It was a wonderful day.

Harvest Festival
Key Stage 2 were delighted to be joined by so many parents and carers for their Harvest Eucharist Service on Monday morning. The service was led by Nick and some of our Year 6 pupils, who reminded us of all that we have and the importance of being grateful and saying thank you. The volunteers at Sutton Foodbank were thrilled to see how much food had been donated by our families across the school when the House Captains delivered the goods on Tuesday. Thank you to everyone who donated - your generosity is greatly appreciated by those in need.
On Monday the Key Stage 1 children were very excited to perform to family and friends in our Harvest worship. We were very proud of their confident speaking and singing in front of such a large audience.
Early Years celebrated Harvest by singing and telling the story of The Little Red Hen.
We would like to thank you for all your donations. Sutton Foodbank were so grateful for all the donations.
Congratulations!
We would like to congratulate Miss Fraser, Head Chef, and her team on achieving the Certificate of Excellence in School Catering. Well done to you all.
