Our Transition & Transfer Programme kicks off in earnest in May 2021. There are a variety of supports that get put in place to ease the move from primary to post primary education and make sure all our new students feel a sense of belonging in the St. Dominic's College community.
Your daughter will be invited to participate in a series of induction workshops from April onwards hosted by our School Completion Programme (SCP) team,Amy, Colleen and Patrick. The workshops will focus on helping students get to know friendly and familiar faces in St. Dominic's College by doing name games, some ice-breakers and fun quizzes!
For any specific queries on these workshops, Amy (aharrison@stdominicsballyfermot.com) and Colleen (cdesouza@stdominicsballyfemot.com) can be contact by email.
In May 2021, a member of the St. Dominic's team will be in contact with all incoming 1st Year students to go through important and valuable information about each student's transfer to the the school. All students or their parent/guardian should be ready to ask this staff member about any questions they might have or any concerns and worries that are on their mind about starting in St. Dominic's College.

In the summer holidays, just before students being their 1st Year in St. Dominic's College, our School Completion Team will arrange for a number of induction days for the 1st Years. The aim will be for them to get to know their new classmates. get familiar with the school layout and have fun! We wrap up these days with a family barbecue for all our new 1st Years and their families, which is always a real highlight of the initial induction process.
A central part of the Transition & Transfer Programme is our Parents' Day. The parents' workshops are coordinated by Ms. Connolly, our Home School Community Liaison Teacher. Parents will be given plenty of information about what supports are in place for their daughters, the daily routines of school life and lots of advice about how they can help their daughter be successful in school.
