“Find Belonging in Art" is a subset of the STCC Library's project, Classics Reimagined: Find Belonging in Literature, which began in fall 2024. The overarching philosophy of Classics Reimagined applies to all works of art: literature, visual art, music, theater, dance, film, and everything in between.

Every moment, place, and culture has its classics: works that people turn to for inspiration, instruction, and entertainment time and again. Here and now, in our diverse and interconnected city, country, and world, many current and future classics are inherently imaginative, multifaceted, and in conversation with older works. Everyone deserves to belong in art, to see themselves reflected and to gain a window into others’ experiences.
