Welcome to St. Bartholomew School! Kindergarten is a joyful and exciting year filled with discovery. Our program is hands-on and activity-based, giving students many opportunities to learn through movement, exploration, and engaging experiences. We also build a strong foundation in literacy and math through our books and curriculum, helping children grow as readers, writers, and thinkers while still enjoying a fun and active learning environment. Like the older students, kindergarteners also participate in weekly classes such as Technology, Art, Music, Spanish, Library, and Physical Education. There is also plenty of time to build friendships and have fun during special moments on the playground.
To support learning this year, we are asking families to provide a few supplies for their child.
Each Kindergarten student will need the following items:
■ 2 sturdy folders with pockets on the bottom
■ 1 box of tissues
■ 1 roll of paper towels
■ 1 package of Elmer’s Glue sticks
■ A supply of (thick/jumbo for beginners) pencils
■ 2 boxes of Crayola 24 count crayons
■ 2 plastic Pencil boxes to hold their supplies
■ 2 Play Dough Tubs (4oz)
■ 10 Count Markers
■ 1 Primary Picture Writing Journal/Notebook
■ 1 Baby wipes and 1 Disinfectant wipes
■ Ziploc bags (1 gallon/ 1 quart)
■ Headphones (for computer/iPad use)
For a summer project, please create an “All About My Summer” Memory Book.
This should be a 4-page mini book showing what your child did over the summer. Each page should include a picture and a short sentence to describe it. We will use these books at the beginning of September to share and talk about summer experiences. It’s a wonderful way for the children to get to know one another.
We’re so excited to meet you and begin this wonderful year together—because the very best part of our classroom is YOU!
Sincerely,
Your Kindergarten Teachers
