Hello Kindergarten Families! I hope and pray that you all had a wonderful weekend!! We have a shortened week ahead and a long weekend to look forward to!!!
School is CLOSED this Friday, 10/10/25, and Monday, 10/13/25. Enjoy the precious time with family and friends!
Picture retakes will take place on November 5th. Please let me know if your child will be taking a picture on this day. Thank You!
We will have Library this Thursday. If you haven't already done so, please return the library book your child took out so they can check out a new one this week.
We will attend the School Book Fair on Wednesday, October 15th in the morning. More info to follow as we get closer.
Homework will continue this week, Monday through Wednesday. It will always be placed in your child's daily folder. Please place the completed homework back into the folder to be reviewed and checked the following day. Thank you!
Here is a look at some of the material we will cover this week:
Religion: We have completed Chapter 4 and move on to Chapter 5 this week continuing to learn all about God's Creation of World. In these lessons, the children will learn about God's gift of the animals and our responsibility to take care of them.
English Language Arts (ELA): We continue this week with our ABC BOOTCAMP, working with one letter a day. This week will be working with and focusing on the letters Tt through Ww. ABC Bootcamp makes teaching beginning sounds and letters fun and effective using engaging, science of reading-aligned activities. The children will also be reviewing the two High-Frequency Words 'I' & 'can' this week. This material coincides with our Wonders Reading Smart Start Program. At this time, we are moving very quickly through the alphabet. Eventually, we will slow things down and focus on one letter per week and many other important skills.
Math: We have begun and will continue this week with Topic 2: Compare Numbers 0 to 5. Topic 2 focuses on comparing numbers from 0 to 5. Students will compare groups of objects as well as the corresponding numbers. This work allows for a deep understanding of the concepts of greater than, less than, equal, and not equal. We will complete lessons 2.3, 2.4, and 2.5. this week and wrap up with a review of the lessons in this Topic. If all goes according to plan, our next Math Exam will be on Friday, 10/17/25. I will keep you posted.
Social Studies: We will continue our first unit on Communities this week. The purpose of this unit is to engage students in learning about community. They will learn the purpose of rules and laws in a community and the importance of choosing to follow those rules and laws. Students will explore the various communities that they belong to. Students will learn about authority figures and the roles they play in each of the communities they are a part of. This week we will learn about and focus on Rules in our Community and What is a Good Citizen.
Science: Our Science Program is an engaging, standards-based science curriculum designed specifically for young learners. Through hands-on exploration and age-appropriate lessons, students are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and apply their understanding through meaningful experiments and activities. Our first unit is LIFE SCIENCE. This week our lessons will focus on Comparing Plants and Animals, Needs of Animals, and Animal Habitats.
I am looking forward to a very educational and fun-filled week of learning! Let's have a wonderful week together!!
May God Bless You Always in All Ways,
Mrs. Maneri
