Racism is a Public Health Crisis

No matter what we look like, how long we’ve been here, or what’s in our wallets, we all want to live in the best places for our families. Racism is a public health crisis. Black, Brown, and Indigenous lives matter. Achieving a Colorado that is free from injury and violence is not possible without abolishing systemic racism and white supremacy. This network must address injustice in Colorado to address injury and violence prevention. Our work will continue until all Coloradans have the opportunity to live and have healthy lives in a way that celebrates intersectional identities. Identities include race, religion, creed, color, national origin, gender, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, age, ancestry, ethnicity, disability, education level, language, union activity, gender identity, gender expression, geographic location, or military or veteran status. Collectively, we can build a Colorado that is free from injury and violence by improving racial justice and other forms of equity through policies and systems change.
