The attached CMS memo details surveyor guidance clarifying specific regulatory requirements, and providing information on how compliance will be assessed. In addition, CMS revised its guidance to State agencies, to strengthen the management of complaints and facility-reported incidents.
The Requirements of Participation (RoP) memo outlines revisions to the State Operations Manual, Chapter 5, and Appendix PP which guide long-term care surveyors in enforcing the Requirements of Participation (RoP).

CMS updated Nursing Home Visitation and facility testing requirements aligning with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released COVID-19 recommendations for healthcare settings.
