New NHSN COVID-19, Influenza, and RSV Reporting Requirements

Starting Jan. 1, 2025, facilities are required to electronically report new information about COVID-19, influenza, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) to the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). According to the Dec. 31, 2024, Quality, Safety & Oversight memo, QSO-25-11-NH, “The new data elements that LTC facilities are required to report are: facility census; resident vaccination status for COVID-19, influenza, and RSV; confirmed resident cases of COVID-19, influenza, and RSV (overall and by vaccination status); and hospitalized residents with confirmed cases of COVID19, influenza, and RSV (overall and by vaccination status).”
