1) A resident who is 'behavioral', purposely slid herself out of her wheelchair and then laid on the floor yelling and screaming. Would this be treated/coded as a fall based on MDS criteria?
2) How long do items such as antipsychotics, falls, pressure ulcers, catheters, and UTIs stay on the Quality Measure Report after a resident's discharge or death?
3) How many days after the due date on a certification/recertification can the doctor date his signature or does his signature have to be the date that it is due?
4) When does the baseline care plan need to be given to the family? Before the date of the first scheduled admission care plan? On the day of the admission care plan?
5) A long-term care resident recently went out to the hospital and returned on a skilled Medicare Part A stay. A PPS 5-Day assessment is scheduled with an ARD on day 8 of the Medicare stay, but the resident also has a Quarterly assessment due in the next 30 days. Can the Quarterly MDS be completed while the resident is on a skilled level of care, or do I need to wait until his Medicare stay ends?
