Agency Progress Tracking
The purpose of the accessibility dashboard is to help us to manage the executive branch departments’ efforts to improve technology accessibility. The dashboard focuses on two key areas: Agency IT Accessibility Adoption Checklists and Siteimprove website accessibility scores. Note that the dashboard metrics are not intended as trackers of legal compliance or risk, nor are they effective proxies for legal compliance.
Further details on both types of measures are included below:
Agency IT Accessibility Adoption Checklists are used to track progress over 6 key areas of work. The dashboard shows that information rolled up (all agencies combined), by agency, and also percent complete by section.
Siteimprove website accessibility scores are determined by conformance with WCAG levels A, AA and accessibility best practices. Siteimprove is an automated tool that regularly scans the websites, but is only able to identify about 25% of the accessibility issues (some of which may be due to platform issues that are outside agency control).
