ABOUT THE 2024 ST. ALBERT TRIATHLON
35 years and going strong!
It's been 35 years since we hosted our first triathlon in St. Albert. We were delighted to welcome athletes of all abilities to our race on August 11, 2024.
Set in beautiful St. Albert, known as The Botanical Arts City of Alberta, the race features a 25 meter outdoor pool swim followed by a fast bike/run on a rolling, low traffic roadway.
We offer three different race experiences for athletes to enjoy:
Sprint Triathlon (750m swim; 17 km bike (3 loops); 5k run)
Try-a-Tri (250m swim; 12.6 km bike (2 loops); 2.5k run)
Team Relay (Sprint distance: 750m swim; 17 km bike (3 loops); 5k run).
Thank you, in advance, to our sponsors, volunteers, the City of St. Albert, the wider triathlon community and others, for your support of our race.

PARKING
There will be no parking at Grosvenor Outdoor Pool or at Grandin Clubhouse.
Parking will be available on nearby neighbourhood streets.
Due to limited parking, it is best if you can be dropped off at the Grosvenor Outdoor Pool.
TRANSITION AREA
Transition area will open at 6:30 A.M.
Rack positions will be marked by race category (Sprint or Try-a-Tri)
You may arrive at any time after 6:30AM, but you may also prefer to arrive at the time noted on your race package.
Your Arrival Time is approximately 45 minutes before your On Deck Time.
Your On Deck Time is the time that you must be on deck, and ready to swim. Your swim cap and timing chip will be provided to you at that time. Your actual start time may vary slightly depending on a variety of factors, but your recorded time will not start until you cross the start timing mat.
Lost timing chips will cost you $75 to replace. Timing chips must go on the left ankle.
Relay members are not to be inside the transition zone until just before the active member arrives in transition. However, relay members may wait on the grassy area around the transition or the sidewalk beside the pool fence. It is the responsibility of the relay members to monitor progress of the active member.
There are separate bike rack areas for Sprint distance athletes and Try-a-Tri athletes. Transition volunteers will direct you to the right area when your arrive. These areas should also be outlined in chalk on the pavement.
Transition officials will be present where you arrive in transition. They are there to calm your nerves, answer any questions you may have and help you have a fantastic race. Please obey their direction, as they are concerned with your safety and fun for all.
