Hi families,
Welcome to the music page - I wanted to provide an update of some things we have been up to in the last semester. Check out the photos and videos below to find out!

Students create instrumental accompaniments to music. Boomwhackers, triangle, and cajon are pictured here.
Students have been connecting music to their personal interests and cultures. Most recently, we connected music to Valentine's Day and wrote music valentines for friends and family to practice our notation writing skills.
In the video on the left, students created an arrangement of the song, "America, Land of Hope and Liberty," in minor tonality. After first learning the song, students created a new "form," on the board. They then added choreography and organized it by A section, B section, and improvised sections! As you'll notice, some students even improvised by beatboxing!
Students have been working on identifying songs that are in duple and triple meter. Listen to the recordings below and see if you hear the rhythm in groups of 2 or 3 beats!
