If an athlete will be tardy or absent from practice they must fill our our practice tardy/absent form here.
If an athlete is sick, injured, or suspects and injury they must fill our a recovering athlete form.
Practice is essential for athletes on a track and field team because it helps them improve their skills, build endurance, and refine their techniques. Regular training enhances speed, strength, and coordination, allowing athletes to perform at their best during competitions. It also helps prevent injuries by conditioning the body to handle intense physical demands. Additionally, practice fosters discipline, mental toughness, and teamwork, all of which contribute to an athlete’s overall success. Through consistent effort and repetition, athletes can push their limits and achieve their personal and team goals.
What a Spartan Athlete needs to have at practice:
Athletic clothes to practice in!
Sweats are a must! Athletes who do not have sweats may be sent home on cold days.
Hats, gloves and coats! WA weather is cold in the early spring season.
Training shoes
Event specific shoes such as spikes, throwing shoes, etc.
A water bottle
Recovery food - Athletes must recover their glycogen stores! A snack containing roughly 30g of carbs and 6g of protein is perfect!
Here is a video from Coach Randall that recaps the pre-season meeting, just in case you missed it.
