Letter from our Guidance Counselor
Good morning!
I hope everyone enjoyed their Spring Break! This year, our school is participating in the Cardboard Kids which highlights child abuse awareness. April is child abuse awareness month and we want to display our kids all over the campus.
Some quick facts:
-San Antonio has the highest number of confirmed child abuse cases in the state of Texas. 1 in10 children will are abused in some way before their 18th birthday and only 1in 10 of those will ever disclose this abuse. The Cardboard Kids are to help raise awareness of abuse and neglect and to start those conversations throughout our city.
What is needed from each homeroom:
-Each homeroom will be provided with a cardboard kid today.
-It is up to the homeroom to be creative and decorated it. (KEEPING IN MIND THAT WE ARE A CATHOLIC SCHOOL UNDER ARCHDIOCESE GUIDELINES.)
-I will need them completed by March 29th so on March 30th they can be picked up from your room to be displayed.
-Please put you class and grade on the back
I have attached a handout that gives you a little more information. Please let me know if you have any questions and I hope your class has fun with this!!
