Q: When is the conference and how long is it?
A: It is on Fri 4 June from 8.50am to 3.00pm. We suggest you aim to arrive by 8.30am so you are settled and in the hall for the Mihi Whakatau.
Q: What’s the purpose of the conference and what should I expect to get out of the day?
A: The conference is about giving you an opportunity to connect and network with teachers within the Kāhui Ako and learn and share what you’re doing to create great student outcomes.
The conference aims are:
Share with all Kāhui Ako staff our three key focus areas from the Me and My School survey: Relevance, Relationships and Role Models
Develop collaborative initiatives and processes within our Kāhui Ako that reflect our response to student and community voice
Develop a consistent understanding of the impact that improved wellbeing has on learning outcomes
Teachers apply their new learnings to their educational practice
Q: Which schools are in the COL?
A: We are fortunate to have seven participating schools in our COL.

Q: Where is the conference?
A: It is at Takapuna Grammar School, 210 Lake Road Belmont.
Q: Where do I park?
A: Parking will be available in and around the school grounds but where possible, we recommend you carpool with colleagues from school to minimise car numbers.
Q: How will I know which workshops I am attending and where they are?
A: You will receive an email of your confirmed workshops prior to the conference. You should expect this by Friday 28 May 2021
You will also have access to a Conference Website prior to the conference with the programme, workshops, facilitators and any other information around the day.
We will also have a published version that will be available at the Registration Desk which will include a site map of workshop locations.
Q: Will lunch be provided?
A: Lunch will be provided.
Q: What if I have a question on the day?
A: The Registration Desk will be fully operational during the day. If you have a question, please ask somebody there. Our Across-School Leaders will also be around to ask.
Q: What can I do to prepare for the day?
A: Bring your devices and/or note taking tools, networking skills to enable you to meet other people and an open mind to embrace all the different learning ideas you’ll come across.
Q: Who is attending conference?
A: We are fortunate to have all teachers from COL schools attending the conference. These schools include:

There will also be a number of invited guests from other schools and organisations.
Q: I have specific dietary requirements - will this be catered for?
A: You will have listed your dietary requirements on your workshop selection form. If you did not, please email dtkahuiako@tgs.school.nz
Q: How do I know which workshops I’ll be attending?
A: You will attend three workshops on the day. Select your conference workshops here. Choose three workshops for each session (total of nine) and we will endeavour to meet at least one of your preferences.
Note: Workshop selection closes at 5pm on Thursday 20 May 2021.
