DEI Lecturer Guidelines
The DEI Lecturer Guidelines is a set of suggestions developed by a team of genetic counseling trainees and faculty members. This document is meant to encourage lecturers to more directly address topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion that intersect with their presentation topic and prompt consideration about the use of certain terms, images, and content. This tool can be adapted for other genetic counseling training programs, clinical training programs, and graduate programs in genetics. We welcome anyone to make use of these suggestions whether you are a genetic counselor, a PhD scientist, physician, a student in the healthcare field, or anyone who wants to be mindful of DEI while giving a talk on a topic that intersects with clinical genetics. We welcome suggestions and feedback. See video for more information.
