In preparation for your travel arrangements, the SEP team have listed our frequently asked questions (FAQ) regarding the visa requirements for the program below.
The proper visa for the program is the B1/B2 visa. The visa waiver program has also worked for participants in the past.
A student visa does not apply because you are not technically a student at Stanford. As Stanford Executive Program (SEP) is a non-degree-granting program, you will not have student status.
We highly recommend applying for a visa as soon as possible. The process can take up to 4 months to secure a visa.
The Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) and Visa Waiver Program (https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/) requires the following:
You are a citizen or eligible national of a Visa Waiver Program country (please see the list directly following the FAQ).
You are currently not in possession of a visitor's visa.
Your travel is for 90 days or less.
You plan to travel to the United States for business or pleasure.
You want to apply for a new authorization for one person or a group of applications for two or more persons.
The latest date for receiving a full refund is May 6. After that, if you are restricted from entering the U.S. due to circumstances beyond your control (whether it be on the part of the U.S. or the country you are coming from), the SEP team will work with you individually and be flexible in finding the best solution.
