A Stanford University Network Identification (SUNet ID) is a unique Stanford University account name assigned to you. This ID is used for several processes within the University including serving as your username for your Stanford email address. The SUNet ID and Stanford email address is temporary and only active and valid during the program to access campus-specific systems. Your GSB alumni email will be the main email utilized and the one you keep post-program.
In May, you will receive an email from sep@gsb.stanford.edu or a Stanford Executive Program (SEP) team member. This email has a unique link you should click to create your SUNet ID by the designated date provided.
Please take care setting up your SUNet ID as it cannot be changed once it is created and is a visible part of your Stanford profile. A common way to create your SUNet ID is a combination of your first and last name. For example, janesmith or janesmith18.
If you have difficulty creating your SUNet ID, please contact our consultants from 7 am to 7 pm Pacific Time (PT) Monday - Friday and 8 am to 5 pm (PT) Saturday - Sunday:

Your Stanford sponsor begins the process by entering personally identifiable information such as your full name and date of birth into the Stanford system. When your sponsor's task is complete, you'll receive an email inviting you to choose a SUNet ID and password.
1. Open the invitation email from your sponsor. Click the link in the invitation and follow the directions.
2. On the Identify Yourself form, enter your last name and date of birth, then click continue.
3. On the Choose Your SUNet ID page, type your desired SUNet ID. After two failed attempts, the system will suggest available SUNet IDs. If you choose a SUNet ID that isn't available, the system will ask you to choose another. Remember to select a SUNet ID that you will be proud to say aloud to a professor, manager, or co-worker. Those who receive a Stanford email address will be assigned your-sunetid@stanford.edu. Click continue.
4. On the Verify Permanent SUNet ID page, click each gray box to acknowledge that you agree to the policies and terms. If you don't like your SUNet ID, click change SUNnet ID; this is your last chance to change it. When you're satisfied with your SUNet ID, click continue.
5. On the Choose Your Password page, enter a password that complies with the requirements listed on the right side of the page. Click continue.
6. On the Enter Password Reset Question and Answer page, choose a question and an answer that you can easily remember. Click continue.
7.Your SUNet ID and password are now set; no further action is needed.
Your email address will be activated upon the start of the program.
