Yes. Blocking pop-ups may prevent file downloads from FOLIO. (ex: If you're trying to download data from the Circulation Log app and it doesn't work, make sure to disable your pop-up blocker)
As early as 2014, library leadership began discussing a move to a new integrated library system (ILS) that would be more flexible, functional, and extensible than our current systems (Symphony and Voyager). In 2016, Stanford began hearing about FOLIO, a next-generation library systems platform whose design was led by librarians and libraries working collaboratively with vendors and developers. As Stanford learned more about FOLIO's offerings and saw peer institutions begin to adopt FOLIO, Stanford decided in 2022 to move to FOLIO, bringing together SUL and the coordinate libraries into one shared ILS. In the long run, Stanford expects FOLIO to bring:
Improved management of electronic resource management, license agreements, and course reserves
Support for non-MARC formats, including linked data
Visibility into materials, data, and processes
Efficiency
Reliability and performance
Flexibility
Smoother integration with other systems
Increased collaboration among libraries at Stanford
Opportunity for process improvement

FOLIO is modular. Each function is handled by an “app” - these are similar to “wizards” in Symphony
Apps allow you to perform certain functions (look up material, check out to a patron, update an instance record)
Access to apps is controlled by FOLIO permissions. Simply put, if you have the permission, you’ll see the app in your navigation bar
The apps you see vary based on your FOLIO permissions. (See Appendix: FOLIO Home Screen examples in this document.) If you don’t need that app for your job, you won’t have the permission or see the app:
For instance, not all staff can access the Users app, because patron records contain private information, like addresses. You can’t even view your own record without this permission (FOLIO can’t limit what records you see in the Users app.) You can still access it via MyAccount, to check your due dates, renew books, etc.
You may not see all your apps along the top navigation bar. Just click on the “Apps” drop-down in the top right-hand corner to see more. If you still don’t see all the apps you expect, there might be a permissions issue. Contact your First Responder when you have questions regarding your permissions
That is not an option at the moment. However, since FOLIO is web-based, you can bookmark URLs to go directly to a specific app
These pop-up notifications are nick-named “toasts” - they tell you whether the last edit that you attempted to make worked or didn’t work:
The pink toast notifies you that an error occurred, including any information that may help you resolve the issue. (Note that a pink error is not always reliable, so it’s best to double-check the changes you made to the record)
The green toast gives you confirmation that a record was successfully updated
The Inventory app allows you to manage your collections (physical and/or virtual). Inventory stores bibliographic, holdings, and item data in the form of Instance, Holdings, and Item records. Instance records may be created within FOLIO or generated from records in source record storage (SRS). Data within Inventory integrates with other apps like Orders, Check in, Check out, and Requests.

Yes, you can look up barcodes in the Inventory app, under the Item search & filter tab. Select barcode from the drop-down options
Tip: don’t add any additional spaces, before or after the digits
