I have been involved with SWIMM (Stanford Women in Math Mentoring) since 2019. I served as SWIMM 's chair from 2022-2024.
SWIMM is an incredible mentoring program. During my time as SWIMM chair, we organized a casual research symposium, dinners with professors, postdocs and lecturers from the math department, panels on graduate school applications and a panel with SWIMM alumni. We also organized smaller events, such as study halls, hikes, math-themed movie nights.
Here is a spotlight on women leaders of women voluntary organizations (WVSOs) at Stanford, where I answered some questions about SWIMM.
If you have questions about SWIMM, feel free to email me, or even better, reach out to the current SWIMM chair, Yujie Wu.
I have also helped organize the Noetherian Ring at Stanford, a supportive community of women and gender minorities in the Department of Mathematics at Stanford University. If you are a graduate student or a postdoc at the Stanford math department and want to become involved with the Noetherian Ring, or simply attend the events, feel free to email me.
In May 2024 I was honored to receive a Community Impact Award for organizing SWIMM and the Noetherian Ring.
