Transfer From the Airport

Airport transfers are included for all travelers arriving to Málaga–Costa del Sol Airport and staying at the Aparthotel Monarque Sultan, regardless of arrival date. We will use the flight information you provided to the Travel/Study office to arrange your transfers, so please be sure to alert us if there have been any significant changes to your flight itinerary since you first sent your flight information to our office. Note that you may be grouped with other travelers arriving on the same flight or at the same time.

After you claim your bags and exit customs, look for our local staff member, who will be holding a “Stanford Travel/Study” sign. If you have difficulty finding your transfer, please contact trip staff as follows:

• Prior to September 1, should you encounter any issues on arrival day, please contact local operator representative Elisa Guitay Chomat at +34 6 91 36 37 09.

• Beginning on September 1, you can also reach your Stanford tour manager Anne Leicher at +1 650-521-2896.

• Regardless of arrival date, if your arrival time has had a last-minute change, please contact AHI Travel at +1 844-382-2701 so they can forward your updated arrival information to the trip staff.

You will receive a separate individual email reconfirming your arrival details (including any additional hotel nights) and transfer details approximately 1 to 2 weeks before departure.

At the Hotel

Check-in time at the Aparthotel Monarque Sultan is 3:00 p.m. Luggage can be left with the bell captain if you arrive before your room is ready. Our first group activity will be our welcome reception at 6:00 p.m. on September 1, located in the bar of our hotel, followed by dinner at the hotel restaurant.

For early arrivals, there will be an optional walking tour afternoon of September 1, departing at 3:00 p.m. from the lobby of our hotel.

As a reminder, if you are arriving early and opted to book any extra nights directly with the hotel rather than through Travel/Study, you may need to change rooms when the main program starts since hotels cannot always link individual hotel reservations with group reservations.
